The award winning Isle of Wight Distillery is the only distillery on the island. It was founded in 2014 by Xavier Baker and Conrad Gauntlett and produces the Mermaid gin and vodka range and have just released their newest addition - Mermaid Zest gin.
The Mermaid range is produced using ethically sourced, wild foraged ingredients all from the island itself and the new Zest is no exception.
Made from a base of Mermaid original gin and inspired by the Island itself. The Zest is infused with fresh organic grapefruit all picked from within the walls of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's own fruit garden at Osborne house, island bergamot, wild foraged coastal rosemary and fragrant rock samphire from cliffs on the island.
This is a truly lovely gin, with the grapefruit, bergamot and subtle sweetness of the rosemary in perfect harmony, and the rock samphire keeping it delightfully fresh.
The Distillery works to produce all it's gins in a sustainable and community minded way, and is aiming to become a net-zero, energy efficient business in the near future.
