Quinta do Noval Silval Vintage Port 2005 Silval is considered a particularly accessible style of Vintage Port Wine, known for its freshness, exuberance, and fruity character. It was created for the Vintage Port Wine lovers who do not want to wait too long to enjoy it. A small quinta owned by Quinta do Noval, the 2005 Silval is a full- bodied, saturated purple-coloured wine that displays abundant quantities of chocolate, liquorice, and coffee bean notes intertwined with black berry and cassis fruit. All the grapes from the Quinta do Noval vineyard are trodden by foot to obtain the must, then during fermentation are pressed in lagares, the traditional stone vats from the quinta. The port is then aged in seasoned wooden casks for 18 months. Silky, sweet tannin and stunning concentration, this port should drink well in 3-4 years, and last for two decades or more.
