About: The Hope Family arrived in Paso Robles in 1978 in search of land and new opportunities. They were among a handful of pioneering families who helped shape and gain recognition for this distinct wine growing region. After growing grapes and developing vineyards throughout the eighties and early nineties, the Hopes began producing estate wines under the Hope Farms label. Over time it has become abundantly clear to the Hope family that Paso Robles is capable of producing world-class wines. Today, as Hope Family Wines, the winery crafts elegant wines under five different labels. Austin Hope now president of Hope Family Wines, was eight years old when he began working in his families vineyard, where he was introduced to the philosophy that defines the Hope Family: great wines begin in the vineyard. Though he oversees decisions for all brands ranging from vineyard selection and winemaking to sales and marketing, he refers to himself as a farmer.
Tasting Notes: The Liberty School Syrah exudes classic aromas of blueberries and dark cherries along with hints of eucalyptus and violets. Zesty acidity gives way to a round mouthfeel with vibrant cranberry and plum flavours. Slight nots of pepper and herbs add to the rich complexity and fine tannins lend well to the long finish.
