Country:  Greece
Region:  Nemea & Atalanti

Grape variety:  Moschofilero 80% and Roditis 20%

About:  Moschofilero grapes are grown at high altitude vineyards on the Mantinia plateau and Roditisgrapes also at high altitude vineyards on the slopes of the Aigialia mountains.  The soil is sand and clay and the yield comes in at 90 hl/ha.  There is a microclimate of low temperatures during the winter combined with cool summer nights, due to high altitude, providing slow ripening of the grapes.  That results in very good maturation of the grapes with retaining acidity and fully developed flavours and aromas of both varieties.  The harvest of the roditis takes place from the 30th September to the 6th October and for the Moschofilero its the 6th October to the 16th.  The grapes are handpicked, they are then chilled to 7-8oC in cold storage, followed by pneumatic press and vinified according to classic white wine vinification. Fermentation at controlled temperature of 16-17oC.

Tasting notes: Vibrant yellow-green colour with grey hues. Intense on the nose, with typical aromas of citrus fruits and roses. Well balanced palate, with mild acidity and smooth finish. Serving suggestions: Savoured with seafood, pasta and poultry. Serve at: 9-10oC
