New Award Winning English Sparkling Wine in stock!

Award winning? Yes, only established in 2009, Langham Winery has already become the International Wine & Spirit Competition Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year 2020!  This is one of the most prestigious awards in the business, the 2019 winner being none other that Veuve Clicquot.  This is an outstanding achievement and puts Langham firmly on the map as a leader amongst the exceptional array of sparkling wines that are emerging from the UK.

Langham Winery is situated in Dorset, on 30 acres of south facing chalk soil within a unique micro climate that exists just north of Dorchester an ideal environment for growing the three grapes most associated with champagne – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.  All the grapes used come only from the Langham’s Winery ensuring quality is kept to their own high standards, hand harvested at exactly the right time.  Langham’s adopt a low-intervention approach to grape growing and wine production, using only natural products and not filtering their wines making them suitable for vegans as well as minimising the impact on the environmental.

Yesterday we were lucky enough to taste the Langham Culver NV 2017, a silver IWCS winner, it was simply stunning and a welcome addition to our fizz range!

Tasting Notes:

The base vintage 2017 and 6% reserve wine and is a blend of 66% Pinot Noir, 24% Pinot Meunier and 10% Chardonnay.

A pale gold colour with a stream of fine bubbles. Aromas of red apple, plum, strawberry yoghurt and toasted brown bread. The palate has a fine mousse with orchard and stone fruit flavours, zesty acidity and a nice salinity with a long finish. Both fresh and complex.

A wine suited to all occasions, drinking equally well on its own or particularly with charcuterie & smoked cheeses. Perfect now or age for up to 3 years.
