Mendoza has an enviable array of grape varieties, many of which are planted at high altitudes. The long summers mean the wines have wonderfully pure tasting fruit, and this wine is a great example of this. Produced by award-winning winemaker Hervé Joyaux Fabre, this wine has a dark red colour with violets shiny tones. This is an elegant example of Argentina’s most representative grape showing a delicate balance between dark fruits, floral aromas and French Oak. It has a long finish with supple tannins.
VINEYARDS & VITICULTURE The vines grown in the foothills of mountain ranges, more than 950m above sea level. This Malbec is produced from vines that are 30 years old on average and the yield is around 45hl/hectare.
WINEMAKING The grapes are harvested at the end of March by hand into small trays of 20kg to prevent damage. They are then meticulously sorted in order to select the best grapes for this wine. Cold maceration takes for 5 days followed by fermentation in temperature controlled tanks at 26-28° with 4 pump overs per day and a period of 20 days of maceration.
