Light bright red. High-pitched aromas of fresh red berries rose and white pepper. Juicy and taut on entry then fleshier in the mid-palate offering gently sweet strawberry and spicecake flavors and a tangy not of orange pith. Finishes with good clarity and decent persistence leaving a tangy red fruit not behind. Planet Oregonis totally committed to using only certified sustainably farmed fruit. Our first bottling the 2009 Pinot Noir is represented by three vineyards that were all LIVE. certified. We work with growers that areOrganic Biodynamic LIVEandFood Alliancecertified -- all of whom meet the Salmon Safe criteria in the process.When it comes to marketing wines we dont want to get bogged down in a discussion of the minutia of differences between these credible disciplines. All of the these groups subscribe to the same set of first principles such as minimizing synthetic off-farm inputs following natural systems and methods (instead of chemical) and being responsible for the broader impact of their activities.Thereal contrastis in comparing them to conventional practices. Today the majority of vineyard acres are still conventionally farmed (approximately 75%).The Planet O wines are bottled in a certified sustainable winery facility which is also one of just 14 wineries in Oregon (and very few in the world) that can claim to have rigorously documented theircarbonuse and have reduced mitigated and offset all carbon accounted for in their onsite production methods.
